With four decades of experience in the music business in New York City, composing, performing and teaching piano, in 2019 she relocated to Oahu where she enjoys teaching music and participating in the local music community. Paula has been with Destination Dance since 2023 and began as co-director of the Glee Club. Now she is excited to have been named Music Program Director as of the 2024-25 Season.

Paula is a graduate of The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Her first opera, PATIENCE & SARAH premiered in New York City at Lincoln Center Festival 1998, and has been hailed as the first lesbian opera. Her four operas have been performed worldwide and been reviewed in various academic books, scholarly papers, and articles.
