Love of Dance Leadership Program (LDLP)

The Love of Dance Leadership Program (LDLP) is designed for dedicated dancers who are passionate about dance, leadership, and giving back to our studio community.

Open to students ages 10 and up who are enrolled in Junior (Advanced) level classes, LDLP provides hands-on leadership experience through mentorship, teamwork, and classroom assistance. Members work alongside our instructors to help younger dancers build confidence, learn choreography, and have a positive classroom experience. LDLP members also play an important role during performances by helping younger students backstage and supporting them throughout recital season.

Beyond the classroom, participants develop valuable leadership skills, build lasting friendships, and serve as positive role models within the Destination Dance Hawaii family.

 

Member Benefits

Active LDLP members enjoy a variety of exclusive benefits, including:

• 20% tuition discount for members enrolled in three (3) or more classes who actively assist in at least one (1) class as an LDLP member.

• Additional 5% Early Bird Discount when tuition is paid through the Destination Dance Hawaii app by midnight on the 1st of each month.

• Maximum tuition discount of 25%. (Discounts cannot be combined beyond 25%.)

• Monthly $12 Grub Card (must be used during the month it is issued).

• 20% off Destination Dance Hawaii Swag & Grub (some exclusions apply).

• Exclusive LDLP uniform.

• Invitations to exclusive LDLP celebrations, including our annual year-end celebration and other special events throughout the season.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Love of Dance Leadership Program, students must:

• Be 10 years of age or older

• Be placed in Junior (Advanced) level classes

• Demonstrate a positive attitude, responsibility, and leadership potential

• Be committed to serving as a positive role model within the Destination Dance Hawaii community

Program Requirements

Once accepted into the program, LDLP members are expected to maintain the following requirements:

• Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.

• Submit report cards quarterly through the designated Google Form.

• Provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice for any planned absence.

• Three (3) unexcused no-shows may result in removal from the program.

• Three (3) medical absences may require a doctor's note before returning.

• Use the Homebase application to check in before each assigned class and accurately track volunteer hours.

• Maintain professionalism, responsibility, and a positive attitude while representing Destination Dance Hawaii both in and out of the classroom.

Selection Process

Participation in the Love of Dance Leadership Program is by application and selection. Students are chosen each season based on their commitment, attitude, responsibility, leadership potential, and overall readiness to represent Destination Dance Hawaii as leaders and mentors.
